AGP-333  Precision Farming Systems  3 cr: Provides
a background in the tools of precision farming, GPS, GIS
and VRT. Introductory use of each of these tools in a
precision framing system and how they are applied on the
farm are covered. Hands-on activities with local data will
provide a practical experience in the use of these tools.

     Shared Onsite Classes

EDU-110 Exploring Teaching  3 cr:  Introduces the
concerns and activities of beginning teachers. The focus is
on developing generic teaching skills applicable from
preschool through high school. Microteaching is used to
stimulate actual teaching situations. Case studies are used
to discuss common teaching problems. This class is a
Williamsburg High School class and is shared onsite with
the English Valleys and Iowa Valley High Schools.

College credit classes offered for the Iowa Valley High
School are offered in a year long, shared academy with
HLV, Belle Plaine, and Iowa Valley schools that is taught
at the Iowa Valley Elementary School in Marengo.

         HSC-107  Professionals in Health 2 cr:  Presents skills
         and characteristics expected for professional preparation
         and employability. Provides an overview of the health
         industry as it relates to health and safety regulations.
         Kirkwood Community College Instructor: Lee Daniels
         HSC-117 Basic Medical Terminology 2.5 cr:
Introduces
         basic word structure and terminology pertaining to body
         systems. Includes spelling, pronounciation and word usage.
         Provides a basic overviw of disease process, symptoms,
         anatomy, special procedures, pharmacology and abbreviations.
         Kirkwood Community College Instructor: Lee Daniels
         HSC-172 Nurse Aid  3cr:  This 75-hour nurse aid course
         meets the training requirements of the Omnibus Budget
         Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA) for aides working in
         nursing facilites (NF) and skilled nursing facilities (SNF)
         Students learn basic care giving skills and concepts to
         provide safe, effective resident care.

              curriculum changes in the nursing department at Kirkwood.

Project Lead the Way Academy 
College credit classes for the Iowa Valley High School
are offered in a shared academy withWilliamsburg High School
and English Valleys High School at the Williamsburg High School.
Classes are a semester long.

         EGT-400 Introduction to Engineering Design 3 cr:
        Uses a design development process while enriching 
        problem-solving skills; students create and analyze models
        using specialized computer software. Corequisite:
        Algebra I.

         EGT-410 Principles of Engineering  3 cr:  Explores
        technology systems and manufacturing processes;
        addresses the social and political consequences of
        technological change. Prerequisite:  Introduction to
        Engineering Design, Algebra I; Corequisite: Approved
        college-prep math course.
        Williamsburg High School Instructor: Kevin Wilkinson
        EGT-420 Digital Electronics 3 cr: Teaches applied
        logic hrough work with electronic circuitry, which students
        also construct and test for functionality. Prerequisite: 
        Principles of  Engineering; Corequisite: Approved college-
        prep math course. Course Taught by Clear Creek Amana
        Instructor at CCA High School in Tiffin: __________
         EGT-440 Biotechnical Engineering 3 cr: Hones more
        advanced skills in biology, physics, technology, and
        mathematics and applies them to real-world biotech fields.
        Prerequisite: Biology: Corequisite: Approved college-prep
        math course.

Welding Academy
College credit classes offered for the Iowa Valley High
School are offered in a year long, shared academy with
Williamsburg High School and English Valleys High School
at the Williamsburg High School.
Students register first day of class on August ____

       WEL-331 - Welding Fundamentals 2 cr:  Covers basic
       welding techniques iwth oxyacetylene and electric welders.
       Designed for the general tradesperson working in the areas
       of mechanics and automotive technology.  Students are
       introduced to a variety of welding situations including cutting,
       brazing and various welding positions on lighter guages of
       metal and basic fabrication.  Offered first semester.
       Williamsburg High School Instructor: Larry Baethke 
       WEL-156 Welding Skills I 4 cr: Includes introductory
       concepts and theories in shielded metal arc welding.
       Students learn welding techniques for weaving and flat
       position fillet welds. Osyacetylene torch and plasma cutter
       operation are also convered. Offered second semester.
